My visit to Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island, Maine

I stayed at this wonderful place called Bass Harbor Gables. It is on the quiet side of the island. It is very beautiful and gives you the feel of Maine island living. This is the main house. The best part is that pets are welcome! I also met 2 of my neighbors and they were very cool. One was a photographer and this is her web site: http://gonetothedogs.smugmug.com/
She photographs birds, dogs and maine! I bought one of her photographs at a store in town.

I didn't stay in the main house. Patsy and I stayed in the cottage. It was perfect. In the morning Patsy and I would watch the birds from the front porch.

View from back deck of Bass Harbor. The red buildings are a shellfish company.

I love a nice fire at the end of the day (with a glass of Chardonnay :)

Cozy cottage in Bass Harbor

A great place to return to after a day of walking, hiking, driving around

Patsy pics, sorry there are many of them, she was my main subject!

Patsy settled right into her cottage home for the week
Yum, fish bones!

Patsy had to have her lobster too!

The Bubbles at Jordan Pond

This is the lawn of the Jordan Pond tea house. There is a trail that goes around the pond. Mom and I walked it when we visited Acadia about 10 years ago.
