Cruise out of Southwest Harbor on Captain Carl's Lobster Boat

This was a nice cruise. I liked it better than the one out of Bar Harbor. I highly recommend it. I believe its called Quietside Cruises on the Elizabeth T
This is Ruth from Detroit. This was her first time seeing the Atlantic Ocean. She was so excited!
'I can't believe I am driving this boat! Just call me Captain Ruth!' Carl said there could be only one Captain. So she said, 'Just call me first mate Ruth!' Too funny...
There were only 6 of us on the cruise. The lady on the right lived in Bass Harbor only a few houses from my cottage. The older couple sitting were cute. The man kept singing. His wife had a little dementia setting in. It took a while to get her to step onto the boat. She screamed at her husband, 'don't push me!' and 'F---- you!' But once she got on the boat everything was cool.

It was a little chilly on the water so Patsy had to wear her hoodie.

Some Views from the Cruise

Bear Island Lighthouse

This reminded me of Jaws! Eeeeek!

Harbor Seals on this little island. I forgot exactly what the stone figure is, but there's a picture of it on the dollar bill.

Cruise to Little Cranberry Island

The restaurant on the left is popular in the summer months. It wasn't open yet for us. Talk about a fresh lobster roll!

Quick walk on Little Cranberry Island

Old Church built in 1898

Back to the boat

Flying Mountain Summit over Somes Sound

Not a very high summit but it had gorgeous views

Patsy is quite the tough little hiker, she loved it!

Cove at end of Flying Mountain Trail

This area is protected for nesting Peregrine Falcons. I saw one flying above, but I didn't enter the protected area.

Bass Harbor at Sunset

The house on the right with the long pier is for sale. I can't afford it :(

This is the lady's house I met on my cruise to Little Cranberry Island. Her house was just a few over from my cottage. She's from New Jersey but now lives here full time. I hope my retirement includes a house on the ocean.
